Jose Maria de Fuentes is lecturer with the Computer Security Lab (COSEC) at Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M), Spain. He is computer scientist (2007) and PhD in Computer Science (2012) from UC3M, in both cases with the best academic record award. He is currently serving as National Secretary at Spanish ISO mirror of JTC 71 / SC 27. Moreover, he is member of the editorial board of Wireless Networks journal. In the past, he served as VP of the Spanish chapter of the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society.
His research interests are focused on cybersecurity in general, with emphasis on Internet of Things and constrained devices in particular. He is currently working on continuous authentication and novel technologies such as Blockchain. Moreover, he is also working on smartphone security, in a research line lead by other members of COSEC.
