About me...

I am a manager, engineer and researcher specialised in cybersecurity and cyberdefence. I hold a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University Autonoma of Madrid, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University Carlos III of Madrid, where I currently work as a Part Time Professor and affiliated researcher collaborating with the Computer Security Lab (COSEC). In addition, I have been the Head of the Cybersecurity Research Group at Indra (Spain). I am now Head of Cybersecurity Product Innovation at Minsait, a special business unit in Indra. My team leads the research and conceptualisation of innovative cybersecurity technologies, ensuring their novelty and suitability from a scientific, technological and business perspectives. To this end I also coordinate prototyping efforts as well as define cooperation strategies with the academia and other partners. I am proud of many fruitful collaborations with the academia, as a result of which we in Indra have succesfully transfered several scientific and technology results into our products. In addition to this, I have been appointed Cybersecurity Specialist, acting as subject matter expert at Indra.

During my career, I have worked on multitude of domains, including PKI, Non-repudiation, Attack modelling and categorisation, Security evaluation methodologies (Common Criteria, FIPS 140), Cybersecurity information sharing, Simulation, training and experimentation in cybersecurity, Critical information infrastructure protection, Risk management, Provable security and Software security assurance. I currently dedicate my efforts to applied cryptography, cyber situation awareness (dynamic risk management, decision support and mission impact assessment) and cyber range technology, mainly. Notwithstanding, I am always eager to explore new research trends and challenges.

I regularly participate in standardisation efforts and high-level consultancy at international level. I am also involved in non-for profit activities in the international scientific community, being reviewer for a number of conferences and top journals in the field.

On this Web site you'll find information regarding my professional activity, including published work, research activities, teaching portfolio and a reference to my professional record, covering my past and present experience in the industry sector.

If you think that we can collaborate (joint research, business opportunities, peer review of ongoing papers, participation in seminars, co-supervision of doctoral theses, etc.), do not hesitate to contact me by email.
