José María de Fuentes
Short bio
Jose Maria de Fuentes is Associate Professor with the Computer Security Lab (COSEC) at Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M), Spain. He is computer scientist (2007) and PhD in Computer Science (2012) from UC3M, in both cases with the best academic record award. He is currently serving as Vicepresident of the National Standardization Committee on Cybersecurity and data protection (UNE-CTN 320). Moreover, he is member of the editorial board of the Journal of Computer and Network Applications and Wireless Networks journal.
Research
My research interests are focused on cybersecurity in general, with emphasis on Internet of Things and constrained devices in particular. I am currently working on continuous authentication, fightining against fake contents and uses of Artificial Intelligence for cybersecurity and privacy protection.
Professional remarks
I have been appointed expert witness in several cybersecurity and privacy related cases for several international companies, including NASDAQ ones. I have co-authored an assessment report for the STOA scientific foresight unit of the European Commission on cybersecurity. I have been also involved in the scientific foresight report for the Spanish Parliament in cybersecurity trends. I have also been included in ENISA list of experts.
